Monsanto poisoning you?

If you’re not familiar with Monsanto, you should be.  This is a corporation that is destroying the agricultural industry.

Monsanto uses genetically modified seeds to create high crop yields and make the plants more disease resistant.  Sounds good, huh?  Well, that’s only one part of the company.

When you take something natural and make it unnatural, how do you know it is truly safe?  Sure it may not kill you or make you sick immediately, but neither does smoking.  We all know how harmful smoking is.

The point is, this company uses crony capitalism to get their products into everything they can.  If a farmer’s non-GMO crop is invaded my Monsanto’s evil seed, the farmer gets sued.  It’s happened, people, it happens more than you know.

They claim their food is safe, but they wrote…MONSANTO WROTE… a bill that President Obama signed that protects them from litigation if their GMOs make you ill.  Since when can corporations have bills or executive orders that protect them, specially, and have an US president sign it with little fanfare; hiding in plain sight.

Senator Barbara Mikulski of Maryland has released a public statement apologizing to the public for the passing of the Monsanto Protection Act, stating that the legislation was buried deep within a government spending bill that was required to ‘prevent a government shutdown’.

If their food is so safe, then why do they have such litigation and hide it in another bill?  Why would an US Senator feel she has to apologise to the public, something is wrong… woefully wrong.

Mikulski is the Senate Appropriations Committee Chairwoman, one who was ultimately responsible for passing the bill that contained the notorious Monsanto Protection Act — a legislative ‘rider’ that grants biotech juggernaut Monsanto immunity from federal courts when it comes to their GMO crops. Although ‘written’ by Senator Roy Blunt, who actually gave Monsanto the ability to write their own Monsanto Protection Act and has received over $60,000 from Monsanto, Mikulski has taken serious flak for the passing of the rider.

A rider that Monsanto thought they could slip through the Senate without much of a fight, only to find that the alternative news has made it a mainstream media topic by force (despite GMO lovers saying that it never even happened).

Now we see where our politicians’ loyalies are.

Folks, how do we combat this?
