The NRA is outdated and needs to go the way of the dinosaur

The NRA is outdated and needs to go the way of the dinosaur.  Did I get your attention?  Well, that’s whats going to happen in the progressives have their way.  I, for one, love the NRA and have been a member for years. However, the progressives would have you to believe the NRA wants to make our children into victims of mass shootings; that all they care about is arming Americans; that they are in cahoots with right-wing extremists.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

What does the NRA really work for?  What is their main purpose?  Well, for the progressives who like to send me emails about the dangers and horrors of guns, I want you ro read this.

Dismayed by the lack of marksmanship shown by their troops, Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate formed the National Rifle Association in 1871. The primary goal of the association would be to “promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis,” according to a magazine editorial written by Church.

After being granted a charter by the state of New York on November 17, 1871, the NRA was founded. Civil War Gen. Ambrose Burnside, who was also the former governor of Rhode Island and a U.S. Senator, became the fledgling NRA’s first president. Read the entire article here…

You see?  The NRA was formed by people who cared about others and wanted to educate them on marksmanship and safety.  Sure the NRA gets political now, but they have to.  The political climate of today requires the NRA to have a lobbyist role in today’s government.

The Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the lobbying arm of the NRA. Established in 1975, ILA is committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. People like Joe Biden and his progressive supporters claim they don’t want to take your guns and that the changes to the background won’t be used as a data base for who as has what.  I call shenanigans on that one.  Why bother with some of the steps being taken if you’re not going to have a data base?  Such as, you ask?  ObamaCare!  Have you heard how your doctors are supposed to ask if you have firearms, if so how many and what kind?

If you go back to some of my other articles that state how ObamaCare is just a way into your private lives.  Once they get healthcare, they can get anything else by claiming that it (whatever “it”is) is relevant to healthcare.  Well, they’ve already said that gun ownership is relevant.

Despite promises from the president and a host of other politicians who are pushing for more gun control that nobody is coming for your guns, the confiscation of guns and gun permits has apparently started in some form in New York State. One attorney representing several people who have been forced to surrender their guns spoke with TheBlaze and alerted us to some disturbing facts:

  • Gun owners are losing their 2nd Amendment rights without due process.
  • HIPAA Laws are likely being compromised and the 4th and 5th Amendments are being violated in some of these cases

How did confiscation start happening so quickly? Apparently the gun grabbing was triggered by something inside the NY SAFE Act — New York’s new gun law — that has a provision apparently mandating confiscation of weapons and permits if someone has been prescribed psychotropic drugs. – The Blaze

Now do you see the reason we need the NRA to stay strong?  If you’re not a member, I urge you to become one today.  This is not an advertisement and I have received no compensation for this.

Go to NRA-ILA’s website and use the link there to write your members of Congress.  Tell them to keep their hands off our firearms.  Tell them you won’t give them up, you won’t register them so that they can take them later, tell them you expect them to protect the Constitution as they were hired to do.
