Let’s raise awareness of Lupus and fight together.

This is an email my son sent me.  If you can, please donate to his Lupus page and feel free to repost this and spread it around Facebook.

I am raising funds for the Lupus Foundation of Oklahoma, which is a health organization that is dedicated to finding the cause and a cure for Lupus. Lupus is an unpredictable and misunderstood disease in which the immune system goes out of balance and causes damage to organs in the body. While Lupus can strike anyone at any time, 90 percent of the people that are currently living with this disease are women.

Please support me in my efforts, as I participate in the War on Lupus Walk, by making a donation on my website. Let’s raise awareness of Lupus and fight together.

Thank you,

Ian

Bothersome Trend

I remember a day when unruly kids got their little butts whipped.  You folks remember that?  I remember a day when you screwed up in school, the teacher gave you swats.  The best part is some of them took great joy in it. Kidding, but you know some did.

Update for Justina

This story gets more maddening by the day, if not by the hour.  How can a court, or any other agency, prosecute a father for trying to help his daughter?  You see with a gag order in place, he cannot technically talk about the case, however, what is he to do when the very agencies that are supposedto help him are working against him?  Read the story below from The Blaze. Please spread this story and let’s make it go viral!  Retweet the story, go donate, spread the news!

Save Justina from Bostonian Madmen!

The following story is listed on The Blaze.  This is a copy and paste job in which Glenn Beck asked that we, as bloggers, repost.  This is not a political story; this is not a conspiracy theory; this is a human rights story.  Read the story, forward this post, and go to FreeJustina.com and donate.  This poor family is now broke from fighting for their teenage daughter.

Pay cuts in the wrong places

Congress….  When I think of Congress, I think of the opposite of progress.  You know, pros and cons.  So, when I see in the news that Congress decided to cut the benefits and pensions of active and retired military, I start to think to myself that those selfish people in Congress have their priorities wrong.  I used the term “people” because this is a family friendly blog… well, I try to keep it family friendly.

Welfare: Better than work

Published August 21, 2013

Welfare pays more than a minimum-wage job in 35 states, creating little incentive for Americans to take entry-level work and likely increasing their long-term dependency on government help, according to a new study by the libertarian think tank Cato Institute.

The federal government is hiring what it calls a “Behavioral Insights Team” that will look for ways to subtly influence people’s behavior, according to a document describing the program obtained by FoxNews.com. Look at what may come our way

So, for all you who love, or at least approve of, ObamaCare need to read this story.  Basically, an immigrant to New Zealand gets too fat so the government there wants to deport him so he doesn’t become a liability to their GOVERNMENT RUN HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.

Hey, Chubs, you’re not just fat, you’ve got a disease!

You read right.  Obesity has now been deemed a disease by the American Medical Association.   Experts in obesity have struggled for years to have obesity recognized as a disease that deserves medical attention and insurance coverage as do other diseases. Previously the AMA and others have referred to obesity as “a major public health problem.”

Fears realized

Have you noticed how crazy things have become lately?  It seems there are more mass shooting and other violence.  There was that guy in Texas going around stabbing people, the hostage situation in Suwanee, GA, and other assaults and crimes coming to light.  Then, there’s the political and social upheaval.

Looking in the mirror

Playing God?

spider-goatSo, Al Gore, in his extreme and vast knowledge of all that is, has an idea to make the world a better place. He wants to combine orb spiders with goats.  Yes, you read right.  He wants to combine orb spiders genes with those of goats so that when you milk the goat, you also get silk.
