I hear people talking all the time about how we’ve lost so much in the last 20 years, as far as freedom is concerned; especially since September 11, 2001. Well, you’re right. We have lost a lot of the freedoms we once enjoyed. We have had liberties squashed under the thumbs of tyranny disguised as security. But, now, people are beginning to wake up and get loud. So, you want your freedom and liberty back, too?
The following is a post from Todd Starnes at Fox News. The reason I’m just posting his work is that I couldn’t have said it better myself and I have a sensitivity training thing to go to. Yeah, me… Like I’m not sensitive to the feelings of others. Kidding, it’s actually an agency wide program we all have to go through. Anyway, enjoy the following and tell me your thoughts on it. Personally, I think it’s total BS and that our country has gone completely freakin’ haywire.
There is an ancient Greek phrase Molon Labe. Two words that say a lot more than you may think. Pronounced moˈlon laˈve means “Come and take them”. It is a classical expression of defiance reportedly spoken by King Leonidas I in response to the Persian army’s demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae.
There was a time when the main stream media actually cared about the truth. They went after the story regardless of who was involved or what their political leanings were. Reporters and news anchors kept their own political views private, as they should. We don’t watch them to tell us their political views or who they don’t like; we watch them to tell us the news, straight forward without political bias.
You’ve heard of the so-called “free-speech zones” around college campuses and various cities in the US. If you try to peacefully assemble in a non-designated area you could face fines or jail time depending on the specifics. Then you hear about how Chick-fil-A is being pushed out of cities because of the owners opinion on gay marriage and his devout faith in Jesus.
I’m sitting here minding my own business and I hear a couple of liberals talking about the Colorado theater shooting. They were saying the government should put more regulations on firearms. I’m listening to them and I’m getting irritated as I’m a firm supporter of our Bill of Rights and the US Constitution.
I will not be seeing Paul Verhoeven’s new film about Christ. I know that people will say that I need to be more open-minded and look at all possible “truths” into the life of Christ. They’ll say we have no proof that Jesus is the son of God and that we need to consider all possibilities.
Chuck Norris, at 72 years old, is awesome in my book. As a fellow Oklahoman, conservative, and former martial artist, I’m proud to say I have a few things in common with him. You’ve probably heard all the sayings about Chuck Norris making him nearly a super hero; you may have seen his portayal on Family Guy.
Now, he’s coming out to support Republican Scott Walker, embattled governor of Wisconsin. One thing about Mr. Norris is that he tends to stay out of the spotlight. The very fact that he’s not involved tell me just how serious this is for Wisconsin and the rest of the US.
With Memorial Day behind us and the Independence Day ahead of us, we have just over a month until our next day off from work. We also have just a little over a month until we should remember why we celebrate that day. It’s not just the 4th of July. It’s Independence Day. It recognizes the day out Declaration of Independence was signed.
